Oak planks give you an elegant, almost understated look. Oak is a fascinating wood species with a uniquely rich character, that can be used to create floors with a wide range of expressions.
Black oak wide plank floors
Black Oak plank floors from Junckers is from ancient times know as one of nature’s own products made of oak stored submerged in a bog for centuries.
Natural processes cause the oak almost to become black and this characteristic color gives the wood a very authentic expression. Through a unique coloring technique Junckers has recreated this look and together with the excellent strength properties of the oak a very exclusive product for floors is achieved.
PLANK FLOORS AVAILABLE IN UP TO 3 DIFFERENT GRADES
Junckers plank floors comes in three different grades. Each grade has its own particular characteristics and appearance. None of the three different grades are better or more durable than the others. It is simply a way to qualify the appearance. A Junckers plank floor comes in the grades Classic, Harmony and Variation. Read about the different grades under each type of plank flooring.
PREFINISHED PLANK FLOORING
When it comes to adding warmth, beauty and value to your home, hardwood can’t be beat. And thanks to Junckers prefinished solid wood flooring, it’s never been easier to preplace or find a match for your old floors. Junckers plank floors are all prefinished at the factory in order to protect the wood and preserve the radiance of the wooden floor. Several different types of surface treatment are available, but the most common are carried out using varnish and oil.
THE ADVANTAGES OF PLANK FLOORS TREATED WITH VARNISH
Varnish is popularly perceived as the most durable solution, and often needs less maintenance than oil. But if you look after your plank floor well, there is little difference.
Varnish comes with different levels of gloss - you can choose between silk matt or ultra-matt. Junckers ultra-matt varnish means that you can hardly see the difference between whether the floor is varnished or oiled.
THE ADVANTAGES OF PLANK FLOORING TREATED WITH OIL
Oil gives your wooden floor a rich patina, bringing out the natural beauty of the wood.
Oiled surfaces are easy to ‘patch’ with extra oil applied to areas that are heavily worn, whereas the whole area of a varnished surface has to be lightly sanded before re-varnishing.
BRUSHED PLANK FLOORING
WITHOUT COLOR
Junckers unique brushed wooden floors gives a textured finish to the plank floor.
The soft wood is removed from the surface by using a special brushing technique, thus making the graining very conspicuous.
COLORED PLANK FLOORING
A hardwood floor with color can be the added feature that enhances your room with individuality, whether you would like your floor to be white, dark, gray or an entirely different color. A wide range of colors that highlight the elegant details of the wood can achieve a unique look.
UNFINISHED PLANK FLOORING
A solid hardwood plank floor from Junckers can also be delivered unfinished. Untreated; you will get a raw material that will need to be protected before it is walked on. The advantage of choosing an unfinished floor is that it allows for a greater range of finishes. Take a look at the many possibilities offered by Junckers oil or varnish products.
WITH COLOR
A brushed and colored plank floor is nothing less than a unique experience. The visual details, which are added by means of color and an accentuated wooden structure, provide an outstanding hardwood floor that exudes both style and personality.
