THE APPEARANCE OF A 2-STRIP WOODEN FLOOR
A Junckers 2 strip wooden floor is a 100% hardwood floor and is characterized by multiple short staves of wood in two rows in a board. This provides a livelier look to the floor than that of, e.g. plank flooring. On the other hand, 2 strip wooden flooring is often a cheaper solution than plank flooring regardless of the type of wood. A 2-strip wooden floor can be laid ‘floating’, using Junckers clip system, on battens or glued.
JUNCKERS OFFERS 2 STRIP WOODEN FLOORING IN THE WOOD SPECIES OF BEECH, OAK AND ASH.
2 strip beech wooden flooring
Beech belongs to the light-colored wood species and is one of Europe's most common species of wood. The processing of Beech into 2 strip wooden flooring results in a robust wooden floor. The excellent strength properties, the uniform structure with white to reddish heartwood, as well as the chestnut-colored graining, provide a durable 2 strip wooden floor with a classic look.
2 strip oak wooden flooring
Oak is characterized by its durability and is therefore very appropriate for 2 strip wooden flooring. Oak wood has a warm and golden glow with an exciting grain structure - a timeless beauty that fits in with any kind of home decor. 2 strip wooden flooring in oak acquires an authentic look as the years go by.
2 strip ash wooden flooring
Its excellent strength properties and elegant light appearance, from almost white combined with distinctive dark graining, makes ash a popular choice when choosing 2 strip wooden flooring. Ash acquires a warm and golden expression as a result of natural aging over time.
Besides the type of wood, there are primarily two factors that matter in relation to the appearance of 2 strip wooden flooring; the species of wood that has been used for the 2-strip wooden floor and the type of surface treatment that the wood has been given. Some 2 strip wooden floors have a very calm and uniform look without a major difference in color, while others have great differences in color and therefore acquire a livelier and characteristic look.
2 STRIP WOODEN FLOORING IS AVAILABLE IN 3 DIFFERENT GRADES
Classic | Harmony | Variation
The appearance of a 2-strip wooden floor depends on the grade. The grade you choose should be purely a matter of taste and what will fit best into where the 2-strip flooring will be laid. The grade has no significance in relation to the quality of the 2-strip floor. Junckers 2-strip wooden flooring is available in the following grades: Classic, Harmony and Variation. You can read more about the different grades under each type of 2-strip flooring.
SURFACE TREATMENTS FOR 2-STRIP FLOORING
Wood is a living material and if it is not surface treated it will absorb moisture from the air making it easier for spots and the like to penetrate 2-strip floors. Junckers 2-strip flooring is surface treated at the factory in order to protect the wood and preserve the radiance of the 2-strip floor. Several different types of surface treatment are available, but the most common are carried out using varnish and oil.
THE ADVANTAGES OF 2-STRIP FLOORING TREATED WITH URETHANE
Urethane is popularly perceived as the most durable solution, and often needs less maintenance than oil. But if you look after your 2-strip floor well, there is little difference.
Varnish comes with different levels of gloss - so you can choose silk matt or ultra-matt. Junckers ultra-matt varnish means that you can hardly see the difference between whether the floor is varnished or oiled.
THE ADVANTAGES OF 2-STRIP FLOORING TREATED WITH OIL
Oil can give your wooden floor a deeper glow, bringing out the natural beauty of the wood.
Oiled surfaces are easy to ‘patch’ with extra oil applied to areas that are heavily worn, whereas the whole area of a varnished surface has to be lightly sanded before re-varnishing.
COLORED 2-STRIP FLOORING
A hardwood floor with color can be the added feature that enhances your room with individuality, whether you would like your floor to be white, dark, gray or an entirely different color. A wide range of colors that highlight the elegant details of the wood can achieve a unique look.
UNTREATED 2-STRIP FLOORING
A 2-strip floor from Junckers can also be delivered untreated, but remember that wooden flooring must be surface-treated immediately after laying. The advantage of choosing an untreated floor is that you choose the treatment you wish the 2-strip flooring to have. Take a look at the many possibilities offered by Junckers oil or varnish products.
BRUSHED 2-STRIP FLOORING
WITHOUT COLOR
Junckers unique brushed surfaces highlight the structure of the 2-strip flooring.
The soft wood is removed from the surface by using a special brushing technique, thus making the graining very conspicuous.
WITH COLOR
A brushed and colored 2-strip hardwood floor is nothing less than a unique experience. The visual details, which are added by means of color and an accentuated wooden structure, provide an outstanding 2-strip floor that exudes both style and personality.
WORTH CONSIDERING WHEN PLANNING A DECOR USING 2-STRIP HARDWOOD FLOORING
One of the greatest qualities of a wooden floor is that it never goes out of style. Man has been consciously using wood as a material for more than a thousand years and despite the fact that trends are constantly changing, wooden floors have survived. This clearly shows that the quality and exclusive design of wooden flooring never goes out of style.
A 2-STRIP WOODEN FLOOR WITH CHARACTER
2 strip flooring will change in the course of time. The shades of its colors will evolve and it will experience natural wear. This will collectively result in creating a unique personality for your 2-strip flooring and a feeling of personal value in your home. And it is precisely this kind of character that a 2-strip hardwood floor embraces, which money simply cannot buy. It can only be obtained by being a part of your everyday life.
A 2-STRIP HARDWOOD FLOOR FOR LIFE
Everyone has different tastes. Some prefer a 2-strip floor with patina, while others appreciate the expression of a brand-new wooden floor. The same applies to both: A 2-strip floor needs to be cared for and treated if it is to retain its beauty for an entire lifetime. In this case you will benefit from browsing through our wide range of woodcare.
2-strip flooring may also need to be sanded and this is where solid hardwood plays an important role. 2-strip flooring can be sanded down to the bare wood several times in order to achieve its original appearance. This is a unique property for hardwood flooring.
Is your focus on comfort and good indoor climate? Then you share our conviction. A 2-strip floor from Junckers means that you are taking an active stance on a healthy indoor climate in your home. Choosing solid wood means that the natural material in the floor itself contributes to a good indoor climate. At the same time, all of our 2-strip flooring has also been surface-treated with indoor climate-approved woodcare, which supports a healthy indoor climate for you and your family.

Then we are pleased to tell you that underfloor heating and 2-strip hardwood flooring is undoubtedly an option. All of our wooden flooring is compatible with underfloor heating.
