Hardwood dance floors
Whether its teaching, rehearsing or performing; professional dancers can easily spend eight hours a day or more on a dance floor. And while it is important for the dance floor to be beautiful and long lasting, it’s even more important to have a safe, high performing subfloor system beneath it. The subfloor system, more than anything else, determines the risk of long-term stress injuries to joints and muscles. Junckers is in a unique position to accomplish both objectives, as we produce a wide array of beautiful hardwoods along with the most innovative subfloor systems on the market.
Sprung wooden dance floors
As a long time, global leader in the development of sprung dance floor systems, Junckers originated the Clip System, which has grown to be our most popular dance subfloor system. Beneath our solid wood flooring is a purposely designed dance foam padding that absorbs the impact of the dancers. The unique Clip design allows for individual plank flexing while the floor is in use, a comfort-feature exclusive to the Clip System and not possible with other nailed subfloor systems. Read more about our Clip system floors.
In some situations, a padded sleeper, double basket-weave sleeper, or other type of “sprung” subfloor system may be desired. Junckers produces a full range of this type of subfloor systems as well, including our exclusive wedge levelling systems. Our exclusive levelling wedges allow for perfectly flat floors to be created, even when going over the most severely out of level subfloors.
Portable wooden dance floors
If you’re in need of a hardwood dance floor that is easily removable, storable, with a quick re-installation; Junckers offers a variety of easy to handle portable dance floor systems as well. Portable dance floors are perfect for touring venues and competitions. In most cases Junckers Portable dance floors can be installed directly over existing floor coverings, without causing damage to the floor beneath it upon removal.
Junckers solid hardwood dance floors are available in a wide variety of beautiful colors, species, and styles. The factory applied urethane finish is designed to provide an ideal glide and friction, as well as the expected durability needed in even the most demanding dance applications.
Since Junckers hardwood is prefinished, and in most cases no on site acclimation required, installations are always quick and clean. In fact, most dance floors can be installed and ready for use in just a day or two, with minimal disruption to ongoing business.
Solid hardwood dance floors - Certified wood and caring for the indoor climate
Junckers only use wood from forests managed in a sustainable and environmentally responsible way. Planting new trees as old ones are cut down is one of the characteristics of sustainable forestry. To protect the climate, we strive to use wood harvested as close as possible to our factory. This is why our raw wood is mainly sourced from forest areas in Denmark, Sweden, Germany and Poland.
Junckers achieved Chain of Custody certification in 2006 and has since been able to offer PEFC certified products. In 2010, we also achieved certification under the FSC® scheme.
Furthermore, we have a wide range of wood flooring and woodcare products that carry the Danish Indoor Climate Label. The Indoor Climate Label is your guarantee that the products do not have odours or chemical substances that can adversely affect the air quality in the room.
Easy cleaning and maintenance of your dance floor
Maintenance of a Junckers floor is simple. On a daily basis, it is more than enough to use a scrubber-dryer machine with a low dosage of water. To keep the floor in optimal condition, we offer maintenance products such as resin remover, degreaser and mild soap products.
Additionally, we produce our own sports lacquer. The lacquer is approved in accordance with the European sports standard EN 14904 and has a high ability to bond with the existing surface. This means that only a light screening of the floor is needed before refreshing with one coat of our sports lacquer. If years of hard wear require a more comprehensive refinishing, it is possible to sand the floor down for complete restoration. If a sports floor is regularly maintained, sanding down to bare wood is rarely necessary.

Sub-construction: The foundation for your dance floor
Sub-construction refers to the underlying structure that supports the surface of a dancefloor. The sub-construction of a dancefloor plays a critical role in the overall performance and safety of the floor. A well-constructed sub-floor and sub-structure provide a stable foundation for the surface, ensuring that the floor remains level and does not warp or buckle over time. They also help to absorb shock and reduce the impact on dancers' joints, helping to prevent injuries.
At Junckers you can choose between a wide variety of sub-constructions that will fit any need you might have.
